FOLLOWING a Twitter campaign, McBusted star James Bourne greeted Shoreham Academy students after they performed on stage.

West End production Loserville, written by James Bourne and Elliot Davis, tells the classic American story of geeks versus jocks.

Five students from Shoreham Academy stared in a production at The Old Market in Brighton on Saturday by Apollo Productions, but were surprised to find the show’s writer and McBusted star James Bourne and co-writer Elliot Davis present at the final show.

Producer and founder of Apollo Productions Katy Markey said: “When I started the Twitter campaign to get James Bourne to come and see Loserville, I was always hopeful but also realistic that somebody like him would have a very busy schedule.

“When he walked through the door just before the final performance, it was the most surreal and brilliant moment.”

Student and cast member Leah Rhodie, 14, said: “It was such a surprise.

“We were hoping that they would come to watch but didn’t really think it would happen.

“It was the most amazing end to an absolutely amazing week.”

Another cast member Ellie Fitzgibbon, 15, said she will never forget the experience.

“Having James and Elliot come to see Loserville was the perfect end to our amazing show week.

“It was so wonderful to meet them at the end,” she said.
