Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a 51-year-old man, who was attacked in High Street, Worthing.

Police said the man was siting on a bench in the street around 9pm on Thursday June 30, when the assault took place and he sustained cuts and grazes to his face.

A 39-year-old woman from Worthing was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, and police said she was questioned and bailed until September 9 while enquiries continue.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have other information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 1539 of 30/06.
