Yacht in trouble rescued

TWO people on a drifting yacht were rescued by Shoreham lifeboatmen.

Shoreham RNLI all-weather lifeboat was launched at 4.50pm yesterday to a report of a yacht in trouble.

The crew found the 42ft vessel four miles south west of Shoreham Harbour with no engine power and its main sail snagged.

The yacht had two people on board and was drifting.

The lifeboat crew set up a tow line to await the water to rise, as it was low tide, before entering Shoreham Harbour three hours later.
