Worthing man stabbed in Montague Street

Police are appealing for witnesses to a stabbing in Worthing after a 17-year-old was arrested in relation to the incident.

The incident took place in the west end of Montague Street at just before 7.30pm on Saturday, April 23.

The victim was a 23-year-old man who was wearing a white jumper and blue jeans and was accompanied by two older men in their fifties at the time.

He was stabbed in the leg, requiring treatment at Worthing Hospital.

Police believe the injury was caused during an altercation with a group of teenage boys which occurred close to the Chicken Cottage and Lemon Grass restaurants.

A 17-year-old from Worthing has since been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article. After being questioned he was released on bail until June.
