PEOPLE interested in gardening are invited to a Beeding in Bloom coffee morning on Saturday.

Members of Beeding in Bloom are holding their annual meeting alongside the coffee morning at 10.15am.

The gathering will be in the small, back room of the Village Hall, in High Street, Upper Beeding.

As well as refreshments, there will be a plant sale and raffle.

Beeding in Bloom committee member Pat Nightingale said: “Members are few in number, but they look after the flower beds and containers around the village, as well as the wildflower meadow and hanging baskets.”

The committee help the village a pleasant, clean and attractive place to live, organising working parties on the flower beds and planters around the village for winter as well as summer planting.

Beeding in Bloom is eagerly looking for new members, volunteers, or anyone who would be prepared to sponsor a project. Contact Tricia Toe on 01903 812366.

She said: “We are a friendly group of volunteers who plant-up and maintain the hanging baskets, containers and flower beds in Upper Beeding. Helpers are always most welcome.”
