TWO Shoreham siblings had a surprise on Valentine’s Day when they received a bunch of goodies and a personal message from the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants, Tom Kenny.

Charlotte and George Horlock, creators of the Facebook fan page, Tom Kenny is Lovely, received a message from Mr Kenny written on a 1990s edition of the Syracuse New Times which read ‘thank you for caring’.

Mr Horlock, 18, of Church Green, said: “I screamed. I genuinely screamed.

“We’ve been working for five years to reach out to Tom, and it felt great knowing he had acknowledged us in such a personal way.”

Mr Kenny is a native of Syracuse in New York and other goodies included Syracuse trinkets.

The pair also received a letter from Mr Kenny’s brother, Dan, thanking them for their support and friendship and congratulating them on their entertaining fan page.

Miss Horlock, 22, who has been running the fan page with her brother for more than five years, said: “The reason we started the support for Tom is because we feel he’s a unique celebrity.

“He takes time for all his fans and makes them feel like his friends.

“It made our day that Tom had acknowledged our work. It was the perfect Valentine’s surprise.”

Mr Kenny has voiced SpongeBob, created by Stephen Hillenburg, since the character first appeared on television in a pilot episode in May, 1999.
