SWIMMERS at a Shoreham pool were among the first in the UK to try out a new fitness workout programme.

Impulse Leisure’s Wadurs pool in Kingston Broadway launched the Swimfit group sessions, developed by swimming experts at the Amateur Swimming Association.

The sessions will take place on Mondays, from 6pm to 7pm, and cost £5.60 for non-members and £4.40 for standard members.

Wadurs centre manager Emma Churcher said: “If you’ve been inspired to follow in the footsteps of Tom Daley and Jessica Ennis, you, too, can achieve your health and fitness goals by coming along to the new and innovative Swimfit group sessions here at Wadurs.

“Our expert instructors will welcome you, assess your goals and motivate you to achieving them.

“It’s an exciting time to come along and be part of the world’s greatest innovation in swimming.”

The sessions are delivered by a fully-qualified Swimfit instructor.

Swimmers can discuss their individual goals before getting started on their pool-workout programme to follow.

Impulse Leisure is a not-for-profit organisation.

A spokesman for the charity said: “After witnessing the world’s greatest sporting event right here on our doorstep, swimmers in West Sussex can now witness a world leading workout programme at Impulse Leisure Wadurs.

“Swimfit is a fun and effective way to get fit and tone up by following motivating sessions delivered by qualified instructors on poolside.”
