ELEMENTS from an oak tree were depicted in an award-winning necklace designed by a Steyning teenager.
James Deedman, 18, a blacksmithing and metalwork student at Plumpton College, won a Special Award in the Young Craftsman of the Year competition at the South of England Agricultural Show earlier this month.
His entry was an oak tree necklace with bark, leaf and acorns in silver. Judges gave the award for the use of materials in the metal jewellery section of the competition for young people aged 14 to 22.
The necklace was among the award-winning pieces on display at the Argingly Showground on June 7 and 8.
