Banks don’t have to be boring – as NatWest in Shoreham has proved.
Staff, customers and businesses in the town all got behind branch manager Chris North’s Movember fund-raising campaign.
Pictures of Chris growing a moustache for Movember, which raises vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer, were sold as raffle tickets at £5 a time.
More than 200 tickets were sold at the East Street branch, raising £1,180, which was then matched by the bank, so double the amount went to the charity.
Local businesses supported the fund-raising by supplying a range of prizes, including meals out and a selection of hampers.
Organiser Jan Strudwick said: “The generosity as been extraordinary and the cus
tomers’ support has been fantastic.”
She said loads of customers had popped into the branch for the draw on Thursday morning, which took place with the help of John Brown, a regular customer at the branch.
