Southwick charity desperate for more marathon runners

Marathon runners are desperately needed to support the Sussex MS Treatment Centre in Southwick after several people had to drop out of the Brighton Marathon 2013 due to illness.

The Croft Avenue treatment centre was picked as a local charity partner of next year’s Brighton Marathon.

The partnership helped the charity fill most of its marathon places, but, due to illness and injury, a few of those places have now become available again.

Charity spokeswoman Joanna Hedges said: “It is such a shame that we had people drop out at this point. The 2013 Brighton Marathon is going to be such a prestigious event for our charity next year. We will have up to 23 people running for us which will be the greatest number of runners we have ever had.

“The event will be an amazing opportunity for us to raise vital funds for the charity and highlight our work in the Sussex area. We really need to find the final few people to register with us to help make 2013 the best marathon yet.”

If you think you could run a marathon and would like to help raise funds for the Sussex MS Treatment Centre, telephone 01273 594484 or email events@mssussex.com

Every penny raised for the centre will help provide vital therapies and treatment for people with MS and other neurological conditions.
