CAKES in all shapes and sizes were on offer at Adur East Lion’s Great Spring Bake.
The charity cake sale, held in Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, last Saturday, raised £103.80 for Lions charity LIBRA.
Club president Susan Saunders said: “There was a wonderful variety of cakes.
“There were large cakes, small cakes, iced, fruit, with cream or without, and with or without gluten – everybody was catered for!
“All those who attended enjoyed the spread.”
The fundraiser was part of a national charity campaign and all funds raised will go to the Lions International Blood Research Appeal, which solely raises funds for the haematology department at King’s College Hospital.
The world-renowned team there will use the funds to develop and trial new treatments for blood disorders and cancers, including lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloma.
Ms Saunders added: “We are pleased to support the Great Spring Bake 2014 in aid of LIBRA as it is such a worthy cause.”
LIBRA chairman Andrew Lodge added: “We are so grateful to Adur East Lions for holding a Great Spring Bake event. Throughout 2014 we need to raise £100,000.”
