Sick Southwick cat goes missing

Concern for a sick cat which has been missing from its home in Southwick since before Christmas is growing.

Oliver, a very friendly, dark male tabby, suffers thyroid problems and its owners, Debbie and Merv Crees, of Southview Road, Southwick, are worried as it has not had its medication.

Neighbour Beryl Ferrers-Guy, who is supporting a poster campaign to try to trace the 11-year-old cat, said Oliver was well-known in the area.

A little underweight for its age due to its illness, the cat has a collar and identity tag but no trace has been found since it went missing around lunchtime on Thursday, December 13.

Mrs Ferrers-Guy added that Oliver’s mother, a tortoiseshell, is still at home.

Hopes that Oliver had been traced on Monday were dashed when the family found it was a virtually identical cat that had been taken in by a nearby resident.
