MONTY Python actress Carol Cleveland has launched this year’s Shoreham Wordfest programme.

She was at Shoreham Farmers’ Market last Saturday, along with Wordfest chairman Rosalind Turner and organising group members Daniel Johnson and Marilyn Stafford.

Carol, the only girl in the cult TV series, arrived fresh from the Monty Python reunion at London’s O2 arena.

Wordfest includes 43 different events, running from September 19 to October 12.

Carol, who lives in Brighton, will be guest speaker at one of the highlights, a three-course dinner at Sussex Yacht Club on September 25.

Carole Buchan, from the publicity team, said: “This year’s programme breaks new ground with a number of events for children and young people and a graphic novel weekend.

“In addition there will be drama, poetry, music and talks by a wide variety of writers, plus workshops and walks.

“There are plenty of big names taking part in a festival which has grown from just seven events over four days since its launch in 2011.”
