CHARITY runners arrived in Shoreham on Thursday, en route from Winchester to Paris.

The five university students, including Adam Davey from Shoreham, spent a day resting in the town before heading to Newhaven on Saturday for the ferry to France.

The 21-year-olds set off on May 26 and are due to arrive in Paris on June 8. They said they had faced injury and route issues but were enjoying the challenge.

Ben Mitchem hurt his knee on the second day but was able to carry on, thanks to Shoreham Physiotherapy Clinic, in Upper Shoreham Road.

Josh Stevenson, who organised the fundraising event for Cancer Research UK, said he had been doing a lot of running last year and he wanted to set himself a challenge.
