The massed choirs event, organised by the Sussex RSCM, featured renditions of new pieces like ‘Think of how God loves yo’ (James MacMillan) and ‘Beati mundo corde’ (Grayston Ives), as well as older favourites ‘Holy is the true light’ (William Harris) and the Gospel Canticle ‘Benedictus in C’ (C.V. Stanford).

Lena Urquhart, from the group, said: “The preparation for this event by the choir members of all ages was carried out over many weeks, showing their continuing commitment to excellence in their contribution to worship, both at home in their beloved St Nicolas and in the wider community of Sussex.

“The spirit of the choir was much strengthened both by being joined by their truly musical parish priest, Fr James Grant, and great enjoyment and pleasure was gained by it, both by having a day out together and by being able to sing in the glorious and uplifting space of Chichester Cathedral.”
