INVITING bowls of delicious home-made soup helped draw the crowds to Beeding and Bramber Village Hall on Saturday (March 16)

The tasty dish has become something of a feature at the Easter Fair in the last four years, and many people come especially for it.

Jean Armour-Milne, secretary of the village hall fund-raising committee, said: “It was very well supported and we have made about £440, which is very good.”

She said the Easter egg tombola, another regular feature of the fair, had also been popular.

The money will go towards improvements to the village hall, including making the lighting more efficient and the ceiling brighter.

Jean explained: “We have got one big project, which is to improve the look of the main hall.”

She said they will eventually need a new floor, but the work would probably be done in stages.
