MEMBERS of the Over 55s Group at the Fishersgate Centre have created a Strange Creatures banner for Saturday’s street party.

Artist Elizabeth Mienert, from Pop Gun Productions, has been working with the group to make the banner for the Southwick and Fishersgate area’s opening event in the Adur Festival.

The Over 55s Group meets at the Fishersgate Centre at 2pm on the first Wednesday of every month. Members like to play cards and chat over a cup of tea. Activities also include talks, organised activities and occasional trips.

Eastbrook Primary Academy pupils are meeting at the school at 10.30am to parade to the centre.

Live music an entertainment follows at 11am, starting with Fanfara brass band and the Giant Pantograph.

There will be the Giant Snail and Colossal Crumbs at 11.15am, a tribal belly dance at 11.30am, Black Eagles Acrobats at 11.55am and Shadow Theatre at 12.20pm.

During lunch, there will be readings from Eastbrook’s entries into the Shoreham Wordfest writing competition.

For the afternoon, there is the Rag and Bone Cart at 1.45pm and from 2pm, Building Show Home Dome with artist Nick Sayers.
