One-off reunion to bring folk trio back together for finale
CLOSE on the heels of his sold-out winter solstice concert, Shoreham guitarist Richard Durrant returns to his home venue of Ropetackle Arts Centre for an exciting old pals’ reunion.
The first half of his gig on Friday, January 25, will be devoted to a solo world tour, Richard playing guitar music from England, Venezuela, Japan, Spain and Romania with his customary virtuosic flair.
And his home audience will again be looking forward to the irrepressible Durrant wit and easy, warm rapport that make each one of his concerts such an intimate occasion.
After the interval, it will be “let your hair down” time when Richard will be joined by old chums and local musical legends, multi-instrumentalists Tom Arnold and Nick Pynn, to revisit some Nick, Dick and Tom favourites.
This one-off folk finale reunion will be the first time the trio have played together for years – that is if you discount the impromptu session at Richard’s 50th birthday party in November, when the threesome discovered they’ve still got what it takes to raise the roof.
The music starts at 8pm and tickets, priced £15, are available on 01273 453422.
