BIRDING for beginners is a new course open to any aspiring bird watchers near Henfield.
Sussex Wildlife Trust is running monthly beginner birdwatching sessions from January to June at Woods Mill Nature Reserve near Henfield.
Head of Adult Learning, Mike Russell, will give presentations on identification techniques, habitats, bird conservation, spring migration and birdsong.
In addition there will be out of the classroom activities.
On one Saturday morning each month the group will meet for a field trip at a top bird site in Sussex.
This will give students the chance to see the blue flash of a kingfisher, hear a nightingale song, or watch buzzards overhead.
The course is suitable for beginners with little or no knowledge of birds or birdwatching.
The course takes place 7pm until 9pm on Tuesday evenings and on Saturday mornings.
The course costs £120 for six motnhs for Sussex Wildlife Trust members and £140 for non-members.
