A GRANT from Sussex Community Foundation has helped fund staff at a Shoreham play scheme.
Adur Special Needs Project (ASNP) was awarded £1,650 to pay for two members of staff to support and care for children with a range of special needs and disabilities at the alternate Saturday play schemes.
Treasurer Jonathan Webb said: “We are delighted to have received this grant. It means we can continue to support our growing membership of children and young people and we’re really grateful for the continued support of Sussex Community Foundation and its donors.”
Established in 1997, ASNP runs weekend play schemes at Glebelands Day Centre, in Middle Road.
The dedicated team of staff and volunteers organises a variety of recreational, fun and challenging activities on a fortnightly basis for children from the district with special and additional needs.
The charity said the youngsters enjoy exploring new ideas and activities in a safe and caring environment, while their parents and carers benefit from valuable respite, which can help to bring life back into balance.
