Fire in Shoreham caused by candle wax build-up

A fire in a two-storey building in Shoreham yesterday was caused by a “build up of candle wax” in a hearth.

Shoreham firefighters were called to Saxons at 9.37pm on Sunday (December 23).

Two fire engines were deployed, along with four firefighters with breathing apparatus and one hose reel.

The incident was confirmed as accidental ignition and no-one was hurt.
