THE Adrian Cox Quartet will play a mix of energetic traditional jazz and swing in Steyning tomorrow night.
The quartet brings its toe-tapping music, in the styles of Benny Goodman, Ben Webster, Ed Hall, Jonny Hodges and Earl Bostic, to Steyning Jazz Club on Friday, April 4.
Leading UK reed player, Adrian Cox, founded the quartet in 2012, having hand-picked the best from the UK’s leading jazz musicians.
Adrian has toured and recorded with TJ Johnson, Paloma Faith and Bad Manners.
Nils Solberg, on guitar, has played from The Kremlin to the Royal Albert Hall, George Trebar on double bass is a leading player on the gypsy jazz scene, and Mez Clough on drums is a London-based player for the main jazz venues in UK.
Colin Jilks, from Steyning Jazz Club, said: “It promises to be a spectacular evening of toe-tapping syncopation and delight.”
Steyning Jazz Club meets at Fletcher’s Croft at 8.30pm. Doors open at 7.45pm. For information, call Denis Cummings on 01903 814017.
