Donkey to help Easter celebrations

A DONKEY named Albert will be walking with the St Michael and all Angels congregation at Southwick Green on Sunday, April 13, as part of the church’s Easter celebrations.

Albert will arrive at 9.30am and the procession will start at 9.45am.

This has been a regular engagement for Albert and David Cross from Mile Oak Farm for a number of years.

They help to celebrate Palm Sunday, when Christians believe Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.

Palm Sunday is also the beginning of Holy Week, which ends with Easter Sunday celebrations.

At St Michael’s, this will include an Easter-egg hunt at the 10am family service, to which all are welcome.

The choir from St Michael’s will sing in a charity concert followed by a cream tea on April 26 at 2.30pm.
