Debate on flooding in Adur on the agenda

FLOODING will be on the agenda at the Adur County Local Committee meeting on Thursday (March 21).

The committee will consider findings related to the Adur area from West Sussex County Council’s June 2012 flooding report.

People are urged to air their views on how the community can help combat flooding, and on future planning issues which may affect it.

Committee chairman Angie Mills said: “We hope this meeting will be useful in understanding how our communities can stay safe from flooding.

“We are looking forward to an informed debate about the issue.”

A decision will also be taken on whether a pedestrian signal crossing in Western Road, Sompting, should be installed.

Other items on the agenda include the regular Talk With Us open forum for residents to speak about issues affecting them, and the latest round of Community Initiative Fund grant applications.

The meeting is at the Shoreham Centre, Pond Road, Shoreham, at 7pm.
