China class at Upper Beeding Primary School celebrates Chinese New Year

CHINA class at Upper Beeding Primary School found out all about the country after which they are named when they celebrated Chinese New Year.

Reception children enjoyed a day full of activities on Thursday, February 7, to celebrate the year of the snake.

Chinese students from Steyning Grammar School visited the school and spent the day working alongside the children.

Everyone enjoyed learning some Tai Chi, making stir fry and practising their chop stick skills.

They also made paper lanterns, dragon flags and red Chinese envelopes for their lucky pennies.

The children and visitors finished off the day with a dragon parade around the whole school, wearing the dragon they had made.
