HOPES are high that an animal-themed Zumbathon at Oak Grove College, Durrington, will be a roaring success.

All proceeds will be split between the college and the Worthing and District Animal Rescue Service (WADARS), and there will be a prize for the best animal costume.

A full morning of the South American dance fitness programme starts at 9.30am, on Saturday, March 23, with a 45-minute session for active older adults and beginners, followed by a two-hour main event, starting at 10.30am, for those with more experience.

Local Zumba teacher Liz Downes will be leading the sessions. She said: “The whole morning should be great fun, as well as helping everyone keep in shape. We also want to be able to fund specialist equipment for the students at Oak Grove College, and assist WADARS prepare for the many calls they will be getting this spring regarding wildlife in distress.”

Tickets are available from Liz at her regular classes, or by post if you contact her first, by calling 07973 532733. They are also available from Oak Grove College or WADARS.

Tickets for the first session are £5, and the main event costs £10 for adults and £5 for children aged 10 to 16. Tickets will also be available on the door at £6, £12 and £6.
