Chairman of Adur out and about in the district

Ricardo is one of Adur’s great secrets and could even be one of the country’s, too.

Nestling down by the River Adur, under the ever watchful eye of Lancing Collage, it has received many awards and plaudits for its ground-breaking engineering work, not only here in Sussex but around the world, as one of the world’s leading multi-industry, technology and innovation-based product development organisations.

Recently, French car manufacturer Bugatti has placed a further contact with Ricardo for the production of the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) system of its Veyron supercar.

Congratulations to managing director Martin Faussett, who gave a very inspirational talk at the Sir Robert Woodard Academy awards a couple of weeks ago and is sponsoring some academy work.

This week, Ricardo was also honoured at the South East Reserves and Cadet Association for its continuing commitment to employees with a dual role of armed forces reservists.

The presentation was carried out by Mrs Susan Pyper, Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex.

Congratulations to Cadet Flight Sergeant R. Morris of 1440 (Shoreham) Squadron Sussex wing ATC, who was awarded Cadet of the Year. Space does not allow for the printing here of all those taking part, though, well done and congratulations to you all.

What a wonderful turn out we had over our three Remembrance Sunday parades. Thank you to everyone who took part and in particular to the children and the bands who marched so well and showed once again that they deserve more credit than is sometimes given to our young people. On Sunday afternoon, we were entertained by the Sussex Bangladeshi Caterers Association, which was formed in 2008. The aim of the organisation is to promote the most-loved food and work with others to improve growth in the industry.

This year’s Chairman’s Christmas Carol service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, at St Michael and All Angels in Church Lane, Southwick, at 6.30pm.
