Care home fire started deliberately

A FIRE in a Shoreham care home last night was started deliberately.

The small fire was started in a second-floor bedroom at the home for dementia patients in Upper Shoreham Road.

Crews from Shoreham, Hove, Brighton and Haywards Heath attended at 10.30am.

One of the Shoreham crew said smoke had been seen coming from the bedroom and the fire had been small, tackled by hose reels.

A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the smoke.
