UPPER Shoreham Road was closed in both directions near Southlands Hospital this morning, after a car spun on to its roof.
The car was seen on its roof just before 9am but the fire service said nobody was trapped.
The accident involved one car and the woman driver was able to get out of the vehicle before Shoreham firefighters arrived.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance and after the fire service made the road safe, the incident was left with Sussex Police at 9.15am.
They closed the road in both directions, between the Hammy Lane junction and the Park Avenue junction, while they worked to right the overturned car.
The road has recently been re-opened and the congestion at the Holmbush Roundabout is clearing.
