THE company which owns the bus which was left teetering on the edge of an embankment in Angmering has made a statement.

Compass Travel has responded after one of its buses was involved in a crash on the A280 Angmering bypass yesterday afternoon.

The bus was believed to be the Holmbush Express shoppers’ bus, which transports people to Tesco superstores from across Bognor, Littlehampton and Worthing areas.

A spokesman from Compass Travel said: “Compass Travel wish to state categorically that the bus involved in the accident yesterday was empty and therefore there were no injured passengers. The driver was shaken but is physically unharmed.

“Investigations are continuing and CCTV footage downloaded from the bus gives no indication that the vehicle or driver were at fault in any way.”
