ROAD patching works will mean the closure of part of Bostal Road in Steyning from Monday.
West Sussex County Council is carrying out carriageway repairs at the access to Mount Park and the road will be closed from 9.30am to 3pm daily.
Geoff Lowry, head of highways and transport, said: “This closure is necessary to allow carriageway patching works to be carried out safely. It is anticipated the works will be completed in five days.
“Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. All alternative routes for traffic will be signed on site.”
West Sussex county councillor David Barling said he had been contacted by residents there soon after he was elected last May.
He explained: “This is a major piece of work to rectify the Bostal Road outside the Mount Park housing development.
“It is a big piece of work on a downward slope. They will maintain access to the properties but it may be there will be a deal of inconvenience.”
