Lifeboats twice launched after vessels run out of fuel

LIFEBOATS were launched twice on Tuesday after vessels ran out of fuel.

The all-weather lifeboat was launched at 12.55 to a report of a 26 foot Bayliner, which had run out of fuel two miles south of Lancing.

The boat was located and had two people on board.

It was towed back to Sussex Yacht Club at Shoreham.

The inshore lifeboat was launched a few minutes later at 1pm to assist a 22 foot motor vessel, which had also run out of fuel half a mile south of Shoreham Power Station.

The boat was also towed back to Sussex Yacht Club.
