BOTH Shoreham lifeboats were launched as part of a search for a missing kitesurfer off Hove.
Shoreham RNLI was called at 6.15pm on Friday and the inshore lifeboat was launched for a search near the King Alfred Leisure Centre.
Due to failing light and poor weather conditions, the all-weather lifeboat was then launched to help the search.
A Shoreham lifeboat spokesman said: “A man wearing a wetsuit was seen walking up the beach with no equipment by the crew.
“The search continued until the coastguard confirmed that this was the casualty, who was safely out of the water.”
The two boats then returned to station.
