The St Mary de Haura Church handbell ringers raised nearly £100 for the Shoreham RNLI during an hour’s performance at Mayberry Garden Centre in Portslade.
The group from the Shoreham church has been in existence for over 40 years.
The handbells themselves were found in St Mary’s Church tower.
Mark Brumfitt, manager at Mayberry, said: “We love to hold interesting events, especially with a charity angle attached, but this is new for us and our customers.
“We were all really impressed with the performance.”
The group meets weekly for rehearsals and regularly performs for the local community.
Lucinder Blackadder, group member, thanked the garden centre and its customers.
