GOVERNMENT minister Penny Mordaunt will visit Shoreham Port today to mark a multi-million pound award from the Regional Growth Fund.

Shoreham Port and Global Technologies Racing in Fontwell are to benefit from nearly £6million in additional Government funding.

Ms Mordaunt will visit both businesses today to mark the award of an additional £5.7 million from the Regional Growth Fund (RGF) for businesses in the south east.

It brings the total RGF funding for businesses in the region to £140million, which will unlock £900million in private investment and create or safeguard 45,000 jobs.

Today’s funding is part of the sixth round of the RGF, which will see a further £297million awarded to 63 new projects and programmes across England.

In total, £2.85billion has now been invested in regional companies, helping them to expand and take on more staff.

Ms Mordaunt’s visit to Shoreham Port will include a meeting at the headquarters, Nautilus House, and a tour of the site.

She will then travel to Denmans Lane, Fontwell, for a tour of Global Technologies Racing.
