Top marks went to Stacey Harrington and Tom Kosteletos who both clinched a stellar set of 12 A*/A grades.

Other success stories came from Elena Jukes. Isabelle Lanham and Chantal Ewins who all achieved 11 A*/As while Mia Cook who scooped ten A*/As as well as an A at AS in general studies.

Speaking of yesterday’s results (August 20) the academy’s principal, Jim Coupe was full of praise for his students: “I am really pleased with these results.

“Despite the ever-changing landscape of education we are experiencing at the moment our staff and students have once again produced a set of results they should be very proud of.

“I wish all our students the very best in the next stage of their lives which, for the majority of them will be joining our excellent sixth form”.

Dave Oakes, vice-principal at Shoreham responsible for GCSE outcomes, added: “I am very proud of our students who have done so well.

“I would also like to thank their parents for the support they have given. We cannot underestimate the role they play in all of this. We are a team at Shoreham Academy and everyone plays their part in delivering this success”.

These results build on last week’s impressive A-Levels success, which saw the Kingston Lane academy achieving improved results for the fourth consecutive year.
