FOREIGN nationals offered free English lessons in Shoreham are delighted with their progress.

The group completed a five-week course with English Language Homestays, learning about everyday English conversation, CV writing, interview preparation and more.

Sylvia Prifornova said: “I have learned so much, I feel much more confident now in speaking English to other people.”

Fellow course student Joanna Sobczyk added: “A very positive experience for me, I have improved my English and met some very nice people. My teacher was very friendly, competent and helpful.”

The students, who are all living in the area, were offered free lessons at Adur Civic Centre as a thank you for the council providing accommodation.

Managing director Jackie Verrall said: “As an international language school based in the Adur district, our focus is normally on visiting foreign students, so we are delighted to be able to use our expertise to support some of our local community.

“All of the people who took up our free lessons have made great strides in their conversational English speaking and writing. We look forward to running more courses in the new year.”
