THE mystery of the missing wellington was solved in Shoreham town centre on Saturday.

Osborn Humphreys estate and letting agents organised a fun Where’s Welly? event to support Shoreham Harbour Lifeboat Station as part of RNLI Mayday 2015.

Clues to the location of the big yellow RNLI wellington were published at the firm’s Brunswick Road office.

Those who completed the treasure hunt were put into a draw, with the first prize a guided tour of the Shoreham Harbour Lifeboat Station and a year’s membership of Storm Force, the RNLI’s children’s club.

The winners were drawn by Stuart Osborn yesterday and will be notified today. All the money raised will go to the Shoreham station.

An RNLI Mayday spokesman said: “Yellow wellies are an important piece of kit for our crews. They keep our lifesavers on sure footing during rescues and they’re a symbol of the amazing work they do.”
