THE junior department at Shoreham College was in fine song last week.

Children from early years to year six gathered last Tuesday for the annual Junior Lent Concert.

Donald Manson, head of music at the St Julian’s Lane college, said: “With the Lewis Hall as full as it can be and the first warmish day of spring, it was a very jolly afternoon indeed.

“Early years were in great voice for the first song, Growing, followed by each year group in order.

“I particularly enjoyed watching the children moving to their various songs, such as Keep Fit Calypso (year one) and Sporting World (year five).

“There was a particularly good standard of recorder playing this year and some great singing from the choir and from many classes.”

Mr Manson congratulated all the children involved, boys and girls aged from three to 11 years old, and said it was a fun day.

Each class sang their own song and the older year groups showed off their recorder skills.

There was also a rousing rendition of Do Your Best from the whole department.

The senior production, Bobbie’s Breaking Up, is being peformed today.
