The search is on for a new head teacher at St Andrews’ High School in Worthing.

An interim head is currently in place at the Sackville Road school after previous head teacher Steve Mercer left part-way through the school year.

A spokesperson for West Sussex County Council said: “The school and governing body are being supported in this process by ourselves and the diocese.

“Former deputy head at the school Mr Straw has stepped up to be the interim headteacher for the remainder of the school year.”
