Police are seeking the rightful owners of a number of items recovered, following the arrest of a man on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle in Littlehamton.

Officers arrested a suspect, a 24-year-old man of no fixed address, on Monday, July 25, after a mobile phone, cigarettes and tobacco were stolen from an unlocked van in East Street, Littlehampton.

Police said the suspect ran off but was traced and apprehended with the help of a police dog.

He has since been released on bail until August 16, pending further enquiries.

The items since recovered are a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses in a case, a white Acer tablet and a black Nurvo tablet, all believed to have been stolen previously from vehicles parked in the Littlehampton area.

Some other items have already been returned.

Anyone who has had any of the outstanding items stolen, or anyone who may have information about other thefts from vehicles, is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 1764 of 26/07.

Alternatively people can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-uk.org).
