BREAKING: Man attempts to rob cash box from Worthing bank guard

Police have cordoned off an area of South Street, Worthing after an attempted robbery, police have confirmed.

Police were called to reports that a man tried to rob a cash box from a security guard as he left Natwest Bank, police have confirmed.

The suspect ran away after failing to steal the cash box at 2.35pm, police said.

Police are now making inquiries, it has been confirmed.

The man is described as white, aged between 30 and 40 and was wearing a dark, blue hooded top and sunglasses, police said.

Photos taken at 3pm today show a space by the bus stops cordoned off with police tape.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to email [email protected] or ring 101 quoting serial 733 of 01/12.
