Police are appealing for witnesses after several antique items were stolen from a property in Beach Road, Shoreham.

Police believe entry was gained by smashing a rear window at sometime between 5pm on Saturday, August 6 and 3pm on Sunday, August 7.

Antique cutlery items, including a set of eight fish knives and forks, silver pepper pots and jewellery were taken, as well as a Victorian silver mesh penny purse described by police as ‘rather unique looking’.

Detective Constable Gavin Percival said: “I would ask that if anyone saw anything suspicious during this period to please get in touch.

“I am particularly keen for anyone with private CCTV in the immediate area to take the time to view their footage for that night and contact me if anything is seen that may assist with the enquiry.”

Anyone with information can contact the police by emailing 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or calling 101 quoting serial 1061 of 7/8.

Alternatively, witnesses can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org
