TEENAGERS working to give something back to the community are planning a sponsored walk from Worthing Pier to Brighton Marina.
The group, aged 15 to 17, are on the final week of a four-week National Citizenship Service programme.
The programme runs in the school summer holidays to enable young people to carry out tasks and to try to give something back to the local community.
Amber Logan said the group included young people from Worthing, Shoreham and Lancing, as well as Peacehaven and various other places in West Sussex.
“We are doing various activities to fundraise for a charity chosen by the group, and in our case that is YSYT (Your Space Your Time). We try to do most of the fundraising in the Shoreham area.
“YSYT is a charity who helps support individuals aged five to 23 who are disabled, having learning difficulties and behaviour issues. YSYT also provides respite care for the families of these people. We as a group feel very strongly about this charity.”
The walk will start at Worthing Pier at 11.30am tomorrow and the aim is to finish at Brighton Marina at 4.30pm.
