THE high quality of end-of-life care at an Upper Beeding care home has earned Gold Standards Framework recognition.

Valerie Manor nursing and residential care home, in Henfield Road, has been accredited with commend status, having been working towards the award for the last two years.

Zoe Bates, owner and manager, said she was ‘absolutely delighted and proud’.

“It has been hard work but extremely rewarding to see how the whole team has developed over this time and to receive the award to recognise the high standards of care that we provide is something that we are all very proud of,” she said.

The home is also celebrating after staff were selected as finalists for The Great South East Care Awards 2014.

The care team and care home worker Ian Goldmsith received testimonials from colleagues, residents and visitors.

Miss Bates said: “We hope that everyone already knows what a fantastic care team we have at Valerie Manor, and that does include everyone who works here, not just the carers and nurses.

“We wait with baited breath for November 8 for the awards evening in Brighton, when we find out which of the finalist wins the awards.”
