Tesco plans new Shoreham store

AFTER weeks of speculation, Tesco has announced its plans to take over a Shoreham pub.

The multi-national hopes to convert the Green Jacket, in Old Shoreham Road, into an Express convenience food store.

Carol Leslie, Tesco spokeswoman, said the move would create about 25 new jobs.

She added: “Not only is this an excellent opportunity to regenerate this former pub site and bring it back to use, but we look forward to investing in the area, creating new jobs, serving local people and becoming part of the community.”

Before Christmas, the supermarket giant denied rumours it was planning to take over the site.
