Business treasures local values

AN ESTABLISHED family firm will be ‘staying local’ despite being acquired by a national firm.

Security 201, in Goring Road, Goring, held a relaunch on Friday after becoming part of the Banham group.

The showroom has been refitted but that is the only noticeable change, despite the business now being in the hands of a larger concern.

Banham executive chairman Charles Hallatt said: “The important thing is this company has been going nearly 25 years and was run really well.

“The previous owners wanted someone to keep it local and it will run exactly as it did before, only it has the financial backing of Banham.”

The company has donated a car to Sussex Police, to be used by crime prevention officers.

Mr Hallatt said it was important for security companies to work closely with the community and that he was delighted to help the police.

Inspector Allan Lowe said: “This is an excellent vehicle for the crime prevention officers to use and we are really keen on supporting the local business community.”

The launch was attended by Worthing mayor Vic Walker and invited guests.
