REGULARS for the annual Massed Bands Extravaganza in Worthing will find there has been a change of venue and name for this year’s event.

Adur Concert Band has traditionally performed with two other bands at the extravaganza but this year decided to join with two different bands and hold the concert in a different venue.

The band will join up with the Crawley Millennium Concert Band and the Second Wind Concert Band from Sevenoaks to perform From Broadway to the West End at The Hawth Theatre, Crawley, on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Ted Kelly, from Adur Concert Band, said: “It is possible that the people who regularly attended the Massed Bands Extravaganza, performed at the Assembly Hall early in the year, will be wondering whether there is concert to be held this year. We are hoping that some of the regulars will make the trip to Crawley.

“Instead of each band performing individually in the first half of the concert, the three bands, of over 100 musicians, will perform the whole concert of foot-tapping favourites and best show-stoppers from Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia!, Chess, Moulin Rouge, Jersey Boys, Chicago, My Fair Lady, Oliver! and Grease.”

Tickets are £12.50 (£10 concessions), available at wwwparkwoodtheatres.co.uk/thehawth or the box office on 01293 553636.
