A NEW series of vintage-style posters of Shoreham received overwhelming support at their launch on Saturday.
Artist Danny McBride, who lives in Shoreham and works from a studio in Brighton, began working on his Beautiful Shoreham project about a year ago.
It made its debut at Shoreham Farmer’s Market on Saturday, where both Marlipins Museum and Worthing Museum agreed to stock the posters and postcards.
Mr McBride, known for his Looking For Lost Sheep sculpture on the Shoreham flyover roundabout, said: “I love the vintage travel posters that encourage people to travel to places. I thought I would like to do that for Shoreham, which is where it all started. I love Shoreham, it is so rich – if you open your eyes it is fantastic.
“The images have been developed over the last year. There are three so far and I am working on another two at the moment.”
Images currently include The Toll Bridge, Shoreham Airport and Norfolk Bridge. The plan is develop a series of cards with envelopes in time for Christmas.
Posters are £9.99 and postcards packs start at £4.99. Visit the website www.beautifulshoreham.co.uk or call Mr McBride on 01273 299156 to order.
