ART students from Shoreham Academy will soon start helping dementia patients recall their pasts.
The students will be putting their skills to good use by painting backdrops and scenery to be used in reminiscence activities by patients at Kingsland House in Middle Road, Shoreham.
Old-fashioned dance halls will be among the settings conjured up with the help of the students’ handiwork.
The art and design students will visit Kingsland House on Monday afternoon to get a feel for the crae homes’ Memory Lane unit and work out exactly what the patients need.
Activities co-ordinator Debora Dixon said she was delighted to have the academy on board and to see young people helping the older generation.
